Work safely at heights

This unit of competency specified the outcomes required to work safely on construction sites where the work activity involves working above 1.5 metres from the ground level and where fall protection measures are required.

Course topics include:

It is expected that competent participants should be able to:

•   WHS legislative duties.
•   Identify work requirements.
•   Select height safety equipment.
•   Inspect height safety equipment.
•   Access and install height safety equipment.
•   Perform work at heights.
•   Rescue.
•   Clean up work area.

Pre-requisites

Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry - CPCCOHS2001A.

Entry Requirements

Participants must:

•   have at least an intermediate level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills.

Delivery

This course is delivered over six - eight (6 - 8) hours using a combination of face-to-face classroom and practical activity sessions. 7.00am - 3.00pm

Class size: 10 students

On successful completion of all relevant assessments (theory and practical) participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in completion of Work safely at heights - CPCCCM2010B.
